About this grant

Provides financial assistance to nonprofit and community organizations supporting unmet disaster recovery needs in Florida communities impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024. Funded projects may include home repair and reconstruction, volunteer coordination, unmet needs assistance, neighborhood clean-up, and rebuilding community facilities. Awards support survivor and community recovery with a one-year performance period.

Completed online application including project budget form (via Blackbaud)
Agreement and certification form signed by two authorized officials (one must be a board member for 501c3s)
Board of directors list with addresses and occupations
IRS determination letter
Last two years of financial statements or audits (with management letter/internal controls report if audited)

Eligibility

Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, long-term recovery organization, faith-based or community organization, municipality or local government acting as fiscal agent, or organization using a qualifying fiscal agent
Must be providing disaster recovery assistance in counties covered by the federal disaster declaration for Hurricanes Helene (DR-4828-FL) and/or Milton (DR-4834-FL)
Must serve clients with proof of disaster-related needs including residency, ownership documentation, income, and insurance payment statements
Must have a system in place for utilizing and supporting volunteers
Must provide a match equal to 50% of the approved grant amount (cash, in-kind, volunteer hours, or combination)
Previous grant recipients must have completed all close-out paperwork on previous grants
Current grant recipients must have expended at least 75% of funds from any previous grant award prior to submitting a subsequent application
Applications requesting less than $25,000 or more than $100,000 will not be considered
