• Grants typically ranging from $1,000 to $5,000
• Seed money and support for organizations without large budgets or staff
• Funding for materials, transportation, program/presenter fees, and intern stipends

• Completed 2027 Annual Environmental Grant Application Form
• Organization's budget (for nonprofits)
• Copy of first two pages of most recently filed 990, or Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements (for nonprofits)
• List of applicant's Board of Directors (for nonprofits)
• Portion of operating budget pertaining to grant-related income and expenses (for schools and municipalities)
• Confirmation of matching funds sources

• Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, municipality (town), or school
• Organization or project must be based in one of the focus towns: Chester, Clinton, Cromwell, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Middlefield, Middletown, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Portland, or Westbrook
• Proposals focusing on the Connecticut River corridor or Long Island Sound must demonstrate impact in at least one focus town
• Project must relate to preservation, conservation, restoration, or environmental education
• Project period must be no greater than 12 months and begin no later than July 1, 2027
• Grant requests require at least a 25% match of the amount requested (in-kind, cash, or professional services)
• If a past grantee, must be in compliance with terms of prior grant
