About this grant

Provides financial support to nonprofit animal rescue and welfare organizations for a wide range of purposes including day-to-day operations, veterinary care, spay/neuter efforts, equipment, construction, and educational programs. Grants support organizations dedicated to the welfare, rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of all species of animals. Awards are reviewed on an ongoing basis and distributed annually at a Grantee Breakfast.

Funds may be used for operations, emergency relief, spay/neuter, veterinary care, equipment, construction, vehicles, education, or special projects

How to apply

Completed and signed grant application form
Proposal summary (maximum one-half page)
Narrative (maximum five pages) including background, funding request, and evaluation plan
Animal intake procedures, adoption contract, and euthanasia policy (if applicable)
Animal statistics for the last two complete calendar years
Most recent financial statement and operating expense budgets
List of foundation and corporate supporters and other income sources
Copy of most recent IRS tax exemption letter
Board of Trustees list with affiliations
One-paragraph resumes of key staff

Eligibility

Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization approved by the IRS
Must be solely dedicated to the welfare, rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and/or enrichment of the lives of animals
Must have no political affiliation or seek to influence any legislature through financial means
Must operate and be located within the state of New Jersey
