About this grant

Supports arts learning programs in schools, libraries, community centers, detention centers, government entities, and nonprofit organizations across Maryland. Programs must be taught by artists listed on the MSAC Teaching Artist Roster. The grant promotes lifelong learning through arts education in local communities.

What you get

Grant award up to $6,000 per application
100% of requested amount funded if approved
Lead artists can receive multiple grants up to a combined total of $14,000 per fiscal year
Teaching artist organizations can receive multiple grants up to a combined total of $56,000 per fiscal year

How to apply

Application submitted via SmartSimple portal
Specification of a teaching artist currently on the MSAC Teaching Artist Roster
Identification of a coordinator at the collaborating school or organization
Lead Artist signature on the application
Description of services, activities, availability, timeline, and fees agreed upon by artist and organization

Eligibility

Teaching artist must be on the MSAC Teaching Artist Roster
Collaborating site must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Maryland, a unit of government based in Maryland, or a college or university in Maryland
Organization must have operated for one completed and documented fiscal year at the date of application submission
Organization must have ongoing arts activities
Collaborating schools and organizations may participate in up to two AiE grant applications per fiscal year
