About this grant

Funds organizations providing caregiver support services to older adults and adults with disabilities, including caregiver respite, education, and training programs. Supports services targeting caregivers of individuals aged 60 and older, with emphasis on low-income minority individuals in greatest social or economic need. Contracts are awarded on a competitive basis using federal Older Americans Act Title III-E and State of Michigan funds.

Eligibility

Must be a public, private non-profit, private for-profit, or political subdivision of the State of Michigan
Private for-profit agencies require prior approval from ACLS Bureau via AgeWays
Must serve caregivers in Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, or Washtenaw counties
Must comply with all requirements in the Operating Standards Manual
Must provide services to caregivers age 60 or older, caregivers of any age when care recipient is 60+, or kinship caregivers age 55+ caring for kinship care recipients no more than 18 years old
Must submit a separate application, budget, and required documents for each service applied for
Must provide 15% cash or in-kind match for Older Americans Act funding
Must maintain required insurance coverage including workers' compensation, general liability, and cyber liability
