• Grant awards ranging from $5,000 to $100,000 per year
• Up to $50,000 per year for developing ideas
• Up to $100,000 per year for testing and spreading ideas
• Access to Beyond Idea Grantee Gatherings for community building and shared learning
• Program totals $1.2 million awarded each year for 6 years statewide

• Project budget (sample budget available in Excel)
• Program evaluation at end of grant term
• Due diligence form before grant funds are disbursed
• IRS Publication 78 verification

• Must be a public nonprofit organization as defined by IRS Publication 78
• Organizations may work with a verified fiscal sponsor who can receive funds on their behalf
• All grants must benefit communities in South Dakota
• SDCF will not fund grants that discriminate based on race, color, creed, sex, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, or national origin
• No funding for operating expenses for governmental entities
• No funding for loans or brick and mortar/construction projects
• Re-applicants after award must have completed project, disbursed funds, submitted evaluation, and not be applying for the same phase

Receive and administer charitable gifts and permanent endowments primarily for the benefit of South Dakotans. Work with donors, charities, and community leaders to strengthen philanthropy in South Dakota.
