About this grant

Supports performing and presenting organizations as well as music service organizations dedicated to the performance and dissemination of contemporary concert music, with a particular emphasis on works by American composers. Funding is available for both general operating support and project support for exceptionally important activities. Organizations must demonstrate sustained artistic excellence and a commitment to contemporary concert music.

IRS determination letter (501(c)(3)) or equivalent documentation
Mission statement (750 characters maximum)
Proposal narrative with repertoire and activity details (3500 characters maximum)
Three 3–5-minute audio samples in MP3 format representing programming
Performances and repertoire list for support year and two prior years
Organizational budget template for three consecutive years
Board of Directors list with professional affiliations

Eligibility

Must be a publicly supported non-profit or fiscally sponsored organization
Minimum of two years of performance or programmatic activity prior to application
Must perform and/or operate at a professional level
Operating budget of $10 million or less (larger budgets may apply for project support with advance approval)
Applications from individuals are not accepted
Student ensembles, volunteer, community, or amateur ensembles are not eligible
Organizations based outside the US may only apply for support for contemporary concert music by American composers
Unincorporated or for-profit organizations must apply via a fiscal sponsor
