About this grant

Provides unrestricted one-year grants to deaf-centric nonprofit organizations and programs that primarily serve members of deaf communities, including those who identify as Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, or DeafDisabled. Priority is given to proposals addressing immediate urgent community needs (such as food, housing, safety, and mental health access) and/or sustainable long-term organizational capacity building. Deaf-centric programs housed within larger mainstream organizations are also eligible.

Funding can be used for any purpose aligned with the organization's mission and operations
Access to DOF team support via optional video meetings throughout the grant period
Opportunity to participate in a cohort of 10 selected deaf nonprofits and programs

501(c)(3) determination letter or fiscal sponsor documentation

Eligibility

Must be a deaf-centric organization or program that primarily works with members of deaf communities (Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, or DeafDisabled)
Must be based in the U.S. with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, or have a fiscal sponsor based in the U.S. with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status
Deaf-centric programs housed within larger mainstream organizations are eligible if the grant proposal is tied to the funding needs of the deaf-centric program
Organizations may submit only one application per cycle
Must disclose any actual or perceived conflicts of interest with Grant Review Committee, DOF, or CSD staff and board
