About this grant

Supports innovative environmental education projects that increase public awareness and knowledge about environmental issues in Ohio. Projects may target the general public, the regulated community, or pre-school through university students and teachers. Two grant tiers are available: Mini Grants up to $5,000 and General Grants from $5,001 to $25,000.

Approximately $700,000 distributed annually statewide

How to apply

Online application via Ohio EPA eBusiness Center
Project objectives (up to two, each up to 2,000 characters)
Budget table with itemized costs (salary, benefits, supplies, equipment, printing, contractual, administrative)
Continuation and replication plan (up to 3,000 characters)
Project justification aligned to Ohio learning standards (K–12 projects only)
Combined PDF of signed Letters of Collaboration and/or Letters of Support
Four required contacts: Authorizing Agent, Fiscal Agent, Project Director, Primary Collaborator

Eligibility

Project must target at least one of three audiences: general public, regulated community, or pre-school through university students and teachers
Project must be based in or serve Ohio
Environmental education content must be based on objective and scientifically sound information
Contractual, salary, and benefits combined cannot exceed 35% of the total budget request
Administrative costs must be 3% or less of the total budget
Must have an Authorizing Agent, Fiscal Agent, Project Director, and Primary Collaborator
