About this grant

Supports charitable organizations that facilitate collaborations between Christian congregations and local charitable organizations to address community needs and priorities. Programs should help congregations identify community needs, build relationships with community organizations, and develop sustainable joint endeavors. The initiative operates in two stages: planning grants to develop concepts, followed by implementation grants to execute approved programs.

What you get

Planning grants of up to $50,000 each (approximately 60 awards) to develop concepts and prepare implementation grant proposals
Implementation grants of up to $5 million each for up to a four-year period to execute approved programs
Access to virtual information sessions to discuss initiative aims and submission guidelines

How to apply

Official Request Letter signed by CEO and board chair (one page)
Concept Paper Information Form (provided on Endowment's website)
Concept Paper Narrative (no more than five pages, 12-point font, single spaced, one-inch margins)
Planning Grant Budget and Budget Narrative (up to $50,000)
Letters of Support from potential collaborators (optional, up to three)
Copy of Organization's Current Year Operating Budget
Copy of Organization's Annual Audited Financial Statements (or Reviewed Financial Statements if audited not available)
Exempt Status and Charity/Foundation Status Information Form
Copy of IRS Exempt Status Determination Letter

Eligibility

Must be a 501(c)(3) public charity organization
Must be interested in and committed to supporting Christian congregations and local charitable organizations in developing collaborative endeavors
Must have knowledge about and be adept at working with groups of congregations and/or local charitable organizations
Individual congregations and local charitable organizations seeking resources for their own programs are NOT eligible
Eligible organizations may include national and regional denominational agencies, faith-based service organizations, church associations and networks, theological schools, church-related colleges and universities, and national or regional community development organizations
Organizations must be knowledgeable about and comfortable working with churches and faith-based organizations
