About this grant

Provides funding to Christian congregations in New Hampshire to reduce their church buildings' carbon footprint through professional energy audits, energy efficiency improvements, and renewable energy projects. Grants support building and equipment upgrades that lower energy use, with renewable energy projects eligible after efficiency work is completed.

Grants up to $10,000 (Gerke match) for energy efficiency or renewable energy projects
Funding for professional energy audits
Projects under $5,000 Gerke match are encouraged; larger projects up to $10,000 may be considered

Completed online grant application
Copy of energy audit proposal emailed to NHIPL
Recent energy audit (required for efficiency/renewable project applications)

Eligibility

Facility must be owned by a Christian faith community in New Hampshire, in a long-term lease, or have the building owner's permission
Matching funds of at least 50% required
All projects require a recent energy audit
Building renovations, window replacements, or projects without cost-effective energy savings are generally not funded
Renewable energy projects are only eligible after energy efficiency projects have been completed
