About this grant

Funds projects that create long-term, sustainable health impact in Georgia communities, focusing on education, prevention, and access to care. Awards are granted twice a year to organizations sponsored by members of the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians. Eligible projects address healthcare needs of local communities and may include medical supplies, equipment, outreach programs, and health education initiatives.

Funding for a 12-month grant cycle
Up to 30% of administrative costs covered within the context of a philanthropic project

Budget worksheet (downloadable template provided)
Description of healthcare needs addressed in the local community and/or Georgia
For continued funding of same/similar projects: completion of Part 4 of the application

Eligibility

Applicant must be a current Medical Student, FM Resident, or Active/Life Member of the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP)
Applications must be submitted by GAFP members, not individuals or clinics
Grant funds must be designated to an entity, not directly to an individual member
No current GHFA Board Trustees are eligible to apply
Applicants are limited to one grant award per year
At least 70% of funds must go to program services; maximum 30% for staff and administration
Grants will not be awarded for research projects, conference attendance, or political campaigns
