About this grant

Supports schools, school districts, childcare centers, colleges, nonprofits, and other organizations in developing farm-to-school programs that increase local food availability in child nutrition programs. Projects may focus on cafeteria procurement and kitchen capacity, classroom experiential learning and agricultural technology, or community-based food and family engagement initiatives. The program builds long-term capacity for farm-to-school programming across Connecticut.

Estimates/quotes for services and infrastructure (if applicable)
Conceptual drawings, stories, or videos related to the project (optional)
W9, Vendor form, and Direct Deposit form (if not contracted with State of CT in last 5 years)
Full Grant Narrative Form submitted directly into the online portal
Project budget narrative
Up to three optional signed letters of support on organizational letterhead

Eligibility

Must be a local or regional board of education, regional education service center, private school, college/university, cooperative arrangement, childcare center/home, or any organization assisting in farm-to-school program development
Applicants who have received CTG4CTK funds for the past two years cannot apply
Each eligible applicant may only apply under one category and submit one application per year
Full Grant applicants must apply under Cafeteria or Classroom categories only (not Community)
Full Grant requests must be more than $5,000 and no more than $50,000
Full Grant projects must be completed within 24 months of contract execution
Personnel/salary costs cannot exceed 25% of requested funds (up to $12,500 maximum)
Applicants serving 10 or fewer students per year are encouraged to apply for a Microgrant instead
