Grant for Health and Human Services Nonprofits Serving Erie County

• One year of program funding (new awards totaling $150,000–$200,000 anticipated across 5–10 new grantees)
• Opportunity to renew existing grants via abridged application
• Feedback meeting with UWBEC staff if application is not selected
• Access to UWBEC's peer network and potential volunteer project support

• Online application submitted through UWBEC's Submittable portal
• Proof of 501(c)(3) status (e.g., IRS determination letter)
• Most recent IRS Form 990
• Most recent audited or reviewed financial statements or Independent Accountant's Report
• Current Board of Directors list with officers and titles
• Program budget narrative including personnel, fringe, travel, contractual, equipment/supplies, and assessment/evaluation costs
• Description of funding sustainability plan (minimum 100 words)
• Outcome measures and data collection plan aligned with selected focus area

• Must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
• Program must serve residents of Erie County, NY
• Organization must have been operational since at least December 31, 2024
• Must have filed IRS Form 990 AND have either audited financial statements or an Independent Accountant's Report per NYS Attorney General Charities Bureau requirements
• Must agree to program funding agreement terms including Charitable Status and Anti-Terrorism Compliance
• Program must address at least one of three focus areas: Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, or Healthy Community
• All program staff must have legally required certifications for their roles
• UWBEC will not fund capital expenditures or direct payments to individuals
