About this grant

Supports nonprofit organizations working to expand access to hospice and palliative care, advance research and education, and address unmet needs in serious illness care. Funding is organized around four pillars: improving access to quality care, advancing research and training, increasing end-of-life care awareness, and supporting innovative solutions for unmet needs. Awards are distributed to between five and ten organizations nationally.

Demonstrated financial stability documentation
Clear financial sustainability plan

Eligibility

Tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
Directly engaged in palliative care, hospice care, or related serious illness fields
Operating programs within the United States
Committed to increasing the number of patients served and improving the quality of care delivered
For-profit organizations not eligible (except those with a clearly defined charitable purpose and appropriate board oversight)
Organizations with operating budgets where more than 25% of costs are unrelated to the proposed program or core mission are not eligible
Grant funds may not be used to support direct lobbying activities
