Grant for Innovation Ecosystem Nonprofits

• Grant award up to $500,000
• MTI plans to invest up to $1 million in the 2026 round
• Multi-year project funding considered
• Award agreement specifying measurable deliverables, finalized budget, and payment schedule
• Initial award payments anticipated within Q1 2027

• Completed IEDP Application Word Document
• Project Budget on MTI's Excel template
• Workplan on MTI's template
• Financial statements: most recent balance sheet and income statement
• Signed and dated W-9 form
• Supporting material (optional but recommended): list of board members, impact reports, letters of support, relevant data
• Online submission through MTI's Blackbaud Grantmaking portal

• Program must serve innovation-driven companies in one or more of MTI's seven technology sectors
• Organization must not have received an IEDP award in the previous two years
• Must demonstrate a credible path to matching requested MTI funding at least 1:1 with additional cash
• Organization must operate in and deliver programming within Maine
• Organization must be, or will be, registered with the Maine Secretary of State corporate registry before award funds are disbursed
• Lead applicant should be a non-profit entity; for-profit companies may be considered in limited cases with pre-application eligibility determination
• Organizations not currently based in Maine may apply, but all grant funds must be directed toward Maine-based work
