About this grant

Supports high-impact educational projects that increase awareness of biomanufacturing and strengthen career pathways for Iowa students. Round 3 prioritizes curriculum development for 9th–12th-grade students, aligning content with Iowa science standards and integrating examples from Iowa-based biomanufacturing research. Projects must connect to one of three technical focus areas: Plastics for Additive Manufacturing, Fibers for Flexible and Rigid Materials, or Proteins for Diagnostics and Therapeutics.

Eligibility

Lead institution must be an Iowa public or private college or university, K–12 school, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, or state/county/municipal government entity
Project teams must include Iowa scientists actively engaged in biomanufacturing research
Project teams must include curriculum development specialists
Projects must focus on 9th–12th-grade curriculum development
Content must align with Iowa science standards
Projects must connect to one of Chemurgy 2.0's three technical focus areas
All funded projects must be completed by July 31, 2027
Must include travel for at least one project representative to present at the Chemurgy 2.0 Annual Symposium at Iowa State University
