Grant for Kansas Community Empowerment Nonprofits and Local Governments

• Grant award up to $2,000 (Community of Growth tier) or up to $5,000 (Community of Action or Empowerment tier)
• Funding for community-driven quality of place projects
• Six months to complete approved projects

• Online application submitted through Salesforce at kansascommerce.gov/kce
• Bids and estimates
• Proof of matching funds
• Updated W-9
• Signed State Policy Regarding Sexual Harassment Acknowledgment Form
• Tax Clearance Certificate
• Letter of Intent (if using a contracted fiscal agent)

• Must be a currently enrolled KCE Community that meets the tier requirements for the grant
• All projects must occur in a registered Kansas Community Empowerment city
• Eligible entities include county or municipal governments, economic development organizations, local chambers of commerce, 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) nonprofits, and community foundations
• Organizations not meeting eligible entity types may apply through a contracted fiscal agent with a formal written agreement
• Community of Growth tier: eligible for up to $2,000; minimum 3 active volunteers, 1 annual goal, 1 meeting/year, biannual reporting
• Community of Action tier: eligible for up to $5,000; minimum 5 active volunteers, 3 annual goals, 2 meetings/year, community assessment, 1 annual project valued at $500+
• Community of Empowerment tier: eligible for up to $5,000; minimum 5 active volunteers, 3 annual goals, 2 meetings/year, community assessment, 1 annual project valued at $1,000+
• Each community may receive only one award within a 12-month period
