About this grant

Supports LGBTQ+ organizations and projects serving the LGBTQ+ community in Maine through general operating support and project-specific grants. General support is available to LGBTQ+-focused and LGBTQ+-led organizations, while project grants fund new or expanded activities that serve or involve LGBTQ+ people in Maine. Priority is given to proposals addressing underserved populations, health care access, violence reduction, and promoting respect.

What you get

Grants up to $10,000
General support for flexible operational funding including programs and capital expenses
Project grants for new or expanded activities serving the LGBTQ+ community
Staff time, equipment, training, and administrative overhead (up to 20%) covered for project grants

Eligibility

Must meet Maine Community Foundation's grant eligibility requirements and non-discrimination policy
For general support: organization must be LGBTQ+ focused (80%+ of population served across all programs)
For general support: organization must be LGBTQ+ led (board and staff)
For general support: must have previously received an Equity Fund project grant
For project grants: project must serve LGBTQ+ people in Maine as primary recipients and/or involve LGBTQ+ people in design, delivery, and evaluation
Organizations without tax status must use a fiscal sponsor per fiscal sponsorship guidelines
