About this grant

Supports innovative on-farm research and demonstration projects that explore sustainable agriculture practices and systems. Projects may cover topics such as soil health, cover crops, nutrient management, integrated pest management, livestock systems, and farm energy efficiency. Findings are published in an annual Greenbook to share results broadly with the farming community.

Review and comply with AGRI SustAg Demonstration Grant FY27 Request for Proposals
Dollar-for-dollar match for amounts requested between $25,000 and $50,000

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include Minnesota farmers, educational institutions or individuals at educational institutions, and organizations such as nonprofits, agricultural cooperatives, tribal governments, and local units of government
Non-farmer applicants must meaningfully involve a Minnesota farmer in the project
Only one application per entity type (e.g., farmer, educational institution, or organization) will be accepted
For requests between $25,000 and $50,000, applicants must provide a dollar-for-dollar match on the amount above $25,000
