Must focus on at least one of HSF's funding areas: civic engagement, climate change, conservation, economic development, leadership, local food systems, social justice, or sustainability
Organizations funded for five consecutive years must take a year off and secure one new funding source before reapplying
Previous grantees must submit a year-end report before submitting a new LOI
