About this grant

Provides grants for tree planting, tree management, hazardous ash tree removal, invasive species removal, and related urban forestry projects on public land. Funding supports municipalities, homeowner associations, and nonprofits in improving community tree canopy and environmental health. A separate Chesapeake Bay Tree Planting Grant is available for eligible applicants within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

Eligibility

Must be a Delaware municipality, homeowner association, or certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit (including schools and churches)
Projects must be performed on public lands within the community
Chesapeake Bay grants require land located in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed with a parcel registered in the organization's name
Chesapeake Bay grants require a 50-50 cost-share match in cash or in-kind services
Some grant programs may require a 50-50 match in cash (non-federal funds) or in-kind services
