Grant for Nonprofits Advancing Maternal and Birth Justice

• Up to $30,000 operating grant per organization
• At least 5 organizations will be funded
• Grant period from June 15, 2026 to June 15, 2027
• Participation in collaborative learning journey with other grantees
• Racial equity and anti-racism coaching and activities
• Community organizing training and activities
• Racial equity and advocacy organizational assessment
• On-demand technical assistance and coaching throughout the project period

• Organization mission and vision statement
• Description of main activities and programs
• Staff demographics (total staff, percentage non-White or Hispanic)
• Board demographics (percentage non-White or Hispanic)
• Racial equity experience narrative
• Advocacy experience narrative
• Birth justice interest and project description
• Most recent IRS Form 990 or 990-N

• Must be a 501(c)(3) organization or another entity that meets IRS charitable guidelines
• Must deliver services to Howard County residents and/or greater Maryland
• Must provide programs and services without discrimination on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, religion, disability, medical condition, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran or military status, pregnancy, ancestry, age, or other protected characteristics
• Must be rooted in and serve Howard County residents
• Priority given to organizations serving lower-income and historically marginalized communities
