Grant for Nonprofits Advancing Systemic Equity and Social Justice

• Grant award of up to $50,000
• Funding for activities implemented over one year
• Potential annual continuation funding for up to three years

• Completed eligibility survey (due October 19th)
• Full proposal submitted via Foundation's grant portal (due October 23rd)
• Proposal clarification process participation (November 2nd–6th)

• Must be incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or working under an authorized fiscal sponsor
• Minimum annual operating budget of $150,000
• Maximum annual operating budget of $2 million (organizations over $2M may apply when partnering with smaller Waterbury organizations)
• Must hold a Waterbury footprint — an office or regular presence in Waterbury, CT, or a key collaborating organization must
• Work must impact the region that includes Waterbury, CT
• Grant awards will not exceed 15% of the applying organization's annual budget
• Must not have received Leever Foundation funding in other 2026 grant rounds
• Must complete eligibility survey before submitting full proposal
