About this grant

Supports urban and community forestry projects in the U.S. Virgin Islands through a competitive Challenge Cost Share Grant Program. Eligible projects include education and public outreach about urban forests, urban forest inventory and analysis, and managing existing urban forests. The program aims to build local capacity for urban and community forestry activities across the territory.

How to apply

Completed grant application cover sheet with original signature (mailed or scanned/emailed)
Completed grant application including purpose, objectives, and mission statement
Narrative detailing activities, participants, administration, facilities, timetable, and end result
One-page descriptive narrative of project benefits
Detailed project budget including match sources
Letters of support from each cooperator, collaborator, or provider of in-kind or financial support
For tree planting projects: three-year maintenance plan and applicable government resolutions
Work plan approved by the Territorial Forester

Eligibility

Must be a nonfederal organization operating within the United States Virgin Islands
Project must have a forestry component
Project must align with U&CF Program Priorities
Must not be currently funded by other sources (no substitution for existing funding)
Must document project approval by authorized representation of the local governing body or organization
Grantees must have a current DUNS number
Grantees must certify they are not debarred from the grant program
Federal agencies are not eligible to receive funding
