About this grant

Provides federal transit funding to improve mobility for seniors and persons with disabilities in the Atlanta Urbanized Area by supporting transportation services that go beyond traditional public transit and ADA paratransit. Eligible projects include demand-response trips, fixed-route shuttles, mobility management, and related technology. Funding is reimbursed at 80% with a required 20% local match from subrecipients.

Up to $687,500 in Capital FTA 5310 federal funds (80% reimbursement rate)
One-year contract beginning October 1, 2027 through September 30, 2028
Option to renew for one additional year based on satisfactory performance

Eligibility

Must be a private nonprofit organization, state or local government authority, or operator of public transportation
Must serve seniors (65+) and/or individuals with disabilities in the Atlanta Urbanized Area
Must provide 20% local match from non-Federal DOT sources
Project proposals without required local match will be automatically disqualified
Must comply with all FTA, Georgia DHS, and ARC federal and state requirements
All drivers must meet DHS requirement for federal criminal background and fingerprint check
Must submit complete proposal including Transmittal Cover Sheet, Proposal Response Template, UCM, and Financial Components Workbook
