About this grant

Provides short-term project funding to support initiatives that operationalize recommendations made by the Rhode Island Overdose Fatality Review Team. Projects should address gaps in overdose prevention, promote health equity, and focus on communities disproportionately impacted by drug-related overdose deaths, including BIPOC communities. Funding operates on a reimbursement model with anticipated project start in January 2027.

Section I: Agency and Agency Capacity (organization experience, 300 words max)
Section II: Scope of Work (project summary, 500 words max)
Section III: Personnel and Work Plan (staff details and timeline)
Section IV: Projected Outcomes and Evaluation (SMART objectives)
Section V: Budget Narrative (itemized budget up to $4,950)
Registration in Rhode Island 'Ocean State Procures' (OSP) system with valid W9

Eligibility

Must be a non-profit organization or government entity
Must have experience providing services, support, and engagement to populations affected by overdose, or provide justification for other demonstrated efforts addressing the overdose epidemic in Rhode Island
Must be registered in Rhode Island Division of Purchases' 'Ocean State Procures' (OSP) system with a current, valid, signed W9 uploaded
Project proposal must align with at least one OFR recommendation from the priority list or from OFR reports published between January 2024 and August 2026
Each organization may submit only one application
Maximum of six (6) agencies will be funded in this cycle
