• Brief Letter of Inquiry (LOI) submitted first to determine eligibility for full application
• Full online application via Cisco's online grants management portal (by invitation only)
• Board chairperson or officer certification of review and support of the grant proposal
• Certification of accuracy and compliance with Cisco's grant policies
• Signed donation agreement (electronic) before funds are disbursed

• U.S. organizations must be recognized by the IRS as tax exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3) and classified as a public charity
• Non-U.S. organizations must demonstrate equivalency to a U.S. public charity
• Programs must serve an audience greater than 65% economically underserved relative to the average standards of the target geography
• Organizations and programs must focus on at least one of four social investment sectors: crisis response, education, economic empowerment, and/or climate resilience
• Organization overhead must not exceed 25%
• Maximum request amount for first-time grant recipients is US$100,000
• Organizations must have national or multinational operations
