Grant for Nonprofits and Public Institutions in HDR Employee Communities

• U.S. grants of $5,000 or more
• Canada grants of CA$5,000–CA$15,000 depending on cycle
• Hearts and Hands grants up to $10,000 (U.S.) or CA$5,000 (Canada)

• Completed HDR employee sponsor form and letter of support from HDR employee sponsor
• IRS determination letter and Form W-9 (U.S.) or proof of compliance with Income Tax Act subsection 149.1(1) (Canada)
• Most recent audited financial statement or IRS Form 990
• Organization's annual operational budget
• Completed itemized project budget form
• Project summary including demonstrated need statement, population served, and anticipated outcomes

• Must be a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, federally recognized tribal government, educational institution, or political subdivision (e.g., school district or library) for U.S. applicants
• A current HDR employee must be engaged with the organization for at least one year and serve as a sponsor
• Proposed funding must be for a discrete project with a clear start and end date and measurable outcomes
• Project must align with at least one focus area: education, healthy communities, or environmental stewardship
• Project activities must be sustainable beyond the grant term
• Project must be completable within a 12-month timeframe
• Canadian applicants must be eligible charities compliant with subsection 149.1(1) of the Income Tax Act
