About this grant

Funds organizations to operate AmeriCorps State programs in Iowa, engaging members in community service addressing education, economic opportunity, health, environment, disaster preparedness, public safety, and veterans' needs. Eligible organizations recruit, place, and supervise AmeriCorps members who serve communities throughout Iowa. Both cost reimbursement and fixed-amount grant mechanisms are available for programs engaging at least eight full-time equivalent members.

Program budget narrative
Documentation of matching funds (at least 24% of total budget for first three years)
Evidence of organizational eligibility (nonprofit status, government entity, tribal documentation, etc.)

Eligibility

Must operate a program wholly within the state of Iowa
Must have operated an AmeriCorps program in the last 5 years (due to condensed 2026-2027 timeline)
Planning grants are not being accepted at this time
Eligible organization types: nonprofits (501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), 501(c)(6) without lobbying), local governments, state agencies, educational institutions, and Indian Tribes
501(c)(4) and 501(c)(6) nonprofits must not engage in lobbying activities as defined under the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995
Program must engage at least eight (8) full-time equivalent AmeriCorps members
