About this grant

Funds community-based nonprofit organizations to deliver trauma-informed, rehabilitative, and/or restorative justice programming inside California state correctional institutions. Organizations may use funds to sustain, expand, or introduce programs serving incarcerated populations, including those in restricted housing units and mental health programs. College educational programming is explicitly excluded from eligible uses.

Funding period: July 1, 2027 to December 1, 2029
Support to sustain, expand, or introduce rehabilitative programming in CDCR institutions

Eligibility

Must be an active 501(c)(3) nonprofit community-based organization or fiscally sponsored by one in good standing
Must have a preexisting record of providing rehabilitative programming within a CDCR institution during at least two of the five years preceding the application
Must currently be providing an existing rehabilitative program
Must be in good standing with the California Secretary of State
Only one application accepted per organization
Funds shall not be used for college educational programming
