About this grant

Supports new and ongoing projects that advance the lives of self-identifying women and girls through five priority areas: economic empowerment, education, health, legal rights, and personal safety. Both project-specific grants and general operating grants are available, with general operating grants limited to organizations with budgets under $1.5 million. Projects are funded on a one-year basis with potential for renewal for up to two additional consecutive years.

How to apply

Letter of Intent (LOI) submitted via online portal
Full proposal (by invitation only after LOI review)
IRS Letter of Determination (for public charities) or fiscal sponsor documentation
For religious organizations: letter on letterhead signed by Rabbi or President/Chair of Board
Mid-year and end-of-year updates (post-award requirement)
Project plan and budget (full application stage)

Eligibility

Must be a public charity with IRS Letter of Determination, a fiscally sponsored organization, or a qualifying religious organization
Organizations may only submit one application per year
LOIs and applications must be submitted in English
TMF does not support capital projects, scholarships, or grants to individuals
General Operating Grants only available to organizations with annual operating budgets of $1.5 million or less
Current third-year grantees must take one full year off before applying again
Projects must serve self-identifying women and girls with a gender lens
Israel-based organizations for the current cycle may only apply under Health, Legal Rights, and/or Personal Safety focus areas
