About this grant

Supports a comprehensive approach to addressing abuse in later life, including domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, neglect, and economic abuse committed against victims aged 50 and older. Funds training programs for law enforcement and service providers, direct victim services, multidisciplinary community responses, and cross-training for professionals serving older victims. Applicants must form a multidisciplinary partnership including law enforcement, a prosecutor's office, a victim service provider, and a nonprofit or government agency experienced with older adults.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include state governments, Tribal governments or organizations, units of local government, victim service providers, Tribal nonprofit organizations, population specific organizations, and state/Tribal/territorial coalitions
Nonprofit organizations must have 501(c)(3) status recognized by the IRS and maintain that status during the award period
Applicant must be part of a multidisciplinary partnership including at least one law enforcement agency, one prosecutor's office, one victim service provider, and one nonprofit or government agency with experience serving individuals 50 years of age or older
Partnership must be documented in a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) from all four required partners (Tribal governments may submit letters of commitment instead)
Nonprofit organizations may not hold money in offshore accounts for the purpose of avoiding tax under section 511(a) of the Internal Revenue Code
New applicants must dedicate a minimum of 40% of total award to direct services; continuation applicants must dedicate a minimum of 50%
Must register/renew in SAM.gov at least 30 days before deadlines
Recipients with grants ending by September 30, 2026 may apply but are unlikely to be funded if they have sufficient funds to carry the project through September 30, 2027
