Grant for Rural and Small Community Arts Nonprofits

• Expedited grant award of up to $3,000 for artist fees
• Funding decisions communicated within four weeks of submission
• Access to South Arts professional development resources

• Online application form (Salesforce portal)
• Proof of government status (if applicable)
• Letter of intent or contract between artist and applicant stating activities, dates, and artist fee (signed by both parties)
• Artist support material: company history, artist biography, or writer's resume/biography
• Work sample representative of the artist/company (up to 10 minutes audio/video, 10 pages written, or 10 images)
• Supplemental document (optional): reviews, letters of support, or brochure (max 5 pages)

• Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, official unit of local/county/state government, or federally recognized tribal community
• Must be based within South Arts' nine-state region (AL, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, SC, or TN)
• Must be located in a rural, isolated, or small community (population of 50,000 or less)
• Must engage a professional guest artist or ensemble residing within South Arts' nine-state region
• Must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI)
• Must provide a dollar-for-dollar cash match
• Project must include both a public presentation and an educational/community engagement activity
• Application must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the project start date
