About this grant

Supports organizations providing meaningful, hands-on outdoor learning experiences for school-age children. Funded programs focus on experiential nature education, environmental stewardship, and outdoor wilderness activities that promote physical and emotional well-being. Priority is given to programs serving economically disadvantaged and diverse communities.

What you get

Fall Cycle grants from $10,000 to $30,000
Spring Cycle grants from $60,000 to $120,000 (recent grantees only)
Funding for program costs including supplies and transportation
Funding for capital improvements
Funding for capacity building
Funding for subsidized tuition

Eligibility

Must serve school-age children (ages 6-18)
Programs must focus on outdoor, nature-based experiential learning
Spring Cycle ($60K–$120K) is open to recent grantees (since 2020) only
Fall Cycle ($10K–$30K) is open to all eligible applicants
Apply only once per calendar year (either Spring or Fall cycle)
Programs must be located in Northern California or Hawaii
