About this grant

Provides mini-grants for climate pollution-reduction projects such as energy efficiency improvements and clean/renewable energy installations. Projects must be implemented by organizations based in Michigan that represent economically disadvantaged communities, including communities of color and low-income populations. High-visibility projects that grow public awareness about energy and climate issues are especially encouraged.

What you get

Mini-grant of $1,000 to $3,000 for climate pollution-reduction projects

How to apply

Description of a project that reduces fossil fuel use and/or demonstrates clean energy use
Clear and realistic budget including equipment costs if applicable
Demonstration of readiness to expand project impact and grow awareness about energy issues and the climate crisis

Eligibility

Must be based in Michigan
Must own the building or site where the project is proposed
Must represent an economically disadvantaged community (e.g., congregation whose members are predominantly people of color or low-income/low-wealth)
Organizations that serve but are not made up of economically excluded community members are not likely to be selected
