About this grant

Provides mini-grants to eligible Kansas nonprofit organizations, government entities, and churches to fund community-driven solutions that help Kansans facing financial hardship achieve greater economic stability. Funded projects must advance at least one of 11 strategies identified in the Blueprint for Upward Mobility, which was developed with input from approximately 1,000 Kansans. The program is administered in partnership with the Kansas Leadership Center.

How to apply

Completed online application form
IRS determination letter in PDF format
Contact information of a legally authorized signatory (CEO, President, Executive Director, or School District Superintendent)
Description of how the project advances one strategy from the Blueprint for Upward Mobility
Identification of Kansas regions to be served by the project
Proposed project budget including travel costs for up to two team members

Eligibility

Must be a 501(c)(3) organization, government entity, or church in Kansas classified as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3)
Must not be a 'supporting organization' described in Section 509(a)(3)
Must not be a 'private foundation' as defined in Section 509(a)
Must have independent 501(c)(3) status — fiscal sponsorships are not permitted
All grant-funded activities must take place in Kansas or directly benefit Kansans
Funded projects must advance at least one of the 11 strategies identified in the Blueprint for Upward Mobility
