About this grant

Planning grants support organizations in developing an AmeriCorps program focused on service-to-career pathways in the behavioral health field for young people ages 18-24. Funded programs will design models that help AmeriCorps members earn certifications or education credits in behavioral health while serving youth ages 12-24. The planning period covers program design, stakeholder engagement, and preparation for a full AmeriCorps program grant in the following cycle.

What you get

Up to $150,000 for an 8-month planning period (January 1, 2027 – August 31, 2027)
Financial support to develop an AmeriCorps program model
Technical assistance and guidance from Nevada Volunteers AmeriCorps team
Support for developing program benchmarks including certification pathways, stakeholder engagement, and member position development

Letter of Intent (due October 7, 2026)
Application Form (max 8 pages)
Budget narrative using provided budget template
Organizational chart
Most recent audit or independent financial statement with management letter
List of Federal grants, cooperative agreements, and subgrants/sub-contracts awarded in the last two years
Organizational Readiness Assessment
Current indirect cost rate agreement (if applicable)

Eligibility

Must propose AmeriCorps program designs that will operate solely within the state of Nevada
Must register with the System for Award Management (SAM) and maintain an active SAM registration
Must include a valid Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) generated through SAM registration
Must include an Employer Identification Number
Eligible entity types: Indian Tribes, institutions of higher education, local governments including school districts, nonprofit organizations, states and US territories
Organizations that have violated a Federal criminal statute are not eligible
501(c)(4) organizations that engage in lobbying activities are not eligible
Corporations with unpaid assessed federal tax liabilities are not eligible
