Seed Grant for Texas Brain Health and Dementia Researchers

• One-year grants of up to $100,000 in direct costs
• Approximately 10–20 awards anticipated
• Support for focused pilot projects in brain health and dementia research
• Opportunity to generate preliminary data for future DPRIT or external funding

• Letter of Intent (LOI) submitted via GrantInterface portal
• Full application (by invitation only after LOI review)
• External scientific peer review of full application

• Must be a Texas-based academic institution or nonprofit organization
• Principal Investigator must be authorized by the applicant organization to lead an independent research project
• PI must have access to personnel, facilities, data, partnerships, and resources needed to complete the work
• An individual may serve as PI on only one LOI submitted in response to this funding opportunity
• Eligible applicants include faculty investigators, clinicians, implementation scientists, community-based researchers, and other qualified research leaders
• Collaborations with for-profit entities are permitted when scientifically justified, but the Texas-based academic institution or nonprofit must remain the lead applicant
• Projects must be designed for completion within 12 months
• Indirect costs will not be awarded
