About this grant

Provides grant funding to training providers who deliver occupational training to displaced and dislocated workers in New Jersey, helping them secure employment in in-demand industry sectors. Training must lead to an industry-valued credential or licensure and result in full-time, year-round employment at a minimum wage of $18.00 per hour. Eligible applicants include post-secondary institutions, registered training providers, private career schools, and Workforce Development Boards.

What you get

Grant award of up to $300,000 per application
Up to $10,000 per trainee for planning, training, administrative, and follow-up costs
18-month contract period (unless extended or reduced)
Pay-for-performance reimbursements at four benchmarks: enrollment, midpoint, completion, and job placement

Letter of need from each employer-partner on company letterhead signed by a company official

Eligibility

Must be a registered training provider on the NJDOL Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) or a state-approved educational institution
Must be in good standing and full compliance with all laws enforced by NJDOL with no outstanding liabilities
Must obtain a Tax Clearance Certificate from the NJ Division of Taxation (unless exempt)
Must have a completed State of New Jersey W-9 form on file with NJ Department of Treasury and a Vendor Identification Number
Must partner with at least one employer and include employer-partner contact information and letter of need
Must obtain a letter of support and recommendation from the local Workforce Development Board representative
Training must target a labor demand occupation as determined by New Jersey's Workforce Development Board
Only one application may be submitted per job title; separate applications required for each job title
