About this grant

Provides capacity-building grants and targeted technical assistance to organizations with established affordable housing programs in HUD-designated rural communities. Recipients receive funding to strengthen staffing, program costs, and systems, along with a resource development scan and financial capability training for housing counselors covering credit building and asset protection. The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Rural Housing and Economic Development.

Eligibility

Must be a 501(c)(3) organization, local government, Native Tribal government, housing development organization, rural CDC, or rural CHDO
Must be located in a HUD-designated rural area
Must be located in one of the eligible states, territories, or jurisdictions listed in the RFP
Must have an established rural-serving affordable housing program
Must identify a staff member to serve as main point of contact with NALCAB
Must participate in regularly scheduled progress calls and a welcome call within the first two weeks
Must participate in both training opportunities and commit staff to completing training
Must complete a final report at the end of the engagement
