About this grant
Provides funds for 20-year term endowments to support long-term work in the humanities, with a focus on research and teaching of Western civilization, American history and government, and civics. Organizations use an initial period of up to three years to raise and certify non-federal gifts, which are then matched one-to-one with federal funds to establish the endowment. The endowment income is then spent to advance humanities programming and preserve resources at the recipient organization.
