About this grant

Supports United Methodist churches in the Michigan Conference that are engaging in community-based service projects and ministries focused on migrants and refugees. Projects must be congregation-based, locally focused, and completed within six months. The program aims to nurture deeper understanding and care for vulnerable populations including refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, and economic migrants.

Eligibility

Must be a local United Methodist church in the Michigan Conference
Project must align with UMCOR's mission and vision
Project must engage the congregation in implementation
Must serve refugees and migrants (refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, trafficked persons, stateless persons, or economic/environmental migrants)
Project must identify and respond to a localized and specific problem or gap in services
Project must be informed by the refugees and migrants being served
Project must be feasible given the partner's capacity, background, expertise, and proposed budget
Project must be completed within six months and not exceed a budget of $2,000 USD
