Grant for Civic Engagement and Democracy Nonprofits

• Grant award ranging from $10,000 to $50,000
• Project funding covering 18 to 24 months
• Funds may cover staff time, volunteer stipends, event costs, childcare for participants, and other program-related costs

• Up to 5-page narrative (12 pt. font) describing organization background, community issue, project details, goals, activities, collaborators, expected results, and success metrics
• Itemized project budget reflecting all expenses and other revenue sources
• Specific budget for funds requested from The Trust
• Current organizational operating budget
• List of board members including professional/non-board affiliations
• If using a fiscal sponsor: letter from Executive Director of Funds Administrator and current board list of Funds Administrator
• All materials combined into a single PDF file no larger than 25 MB

• Must be a 501(c)(3) public charity recognized by the IRS, or an unincorporated coalition using a New York State-based 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor
• Localities (municipalities) are eligible but must be incorporated
• Indigenous Nations must be recognized by New York State
• Applicant nonprofit or fiscal sponsor must have at least four independent board members
• Must meet The Trust's due diligence standards for independent board governance and good financial practices
• Projects must be nonpartisan
• Projects must include in-person components
• Projects must target communities aged 25 and up in Westchester
