About this grant

Funds community-led projects that address the impacts of extreme heat and/or flooding in the Piscataqua Region Watershed. Projects must emphasize local action, strong community engagement, and public benefits to build climate resilience. Eligible activities include heat action plans, community cooling campaigns, nature-based flood solutions, and native vegetation planting.

Eligibility

Applicant must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a government entity, institution, or coalition serving as a fiscal agent, OR an adult individual (18+) partnering with a fiscal agent
Project must take place within the Piscataqua Region Watershed
Project must address the 2026 theme of extreme heat and/or flooding
Project must include a strong community engagement component
Project must promote well-being of people and the environment
Project must focus on public benefits and/or improvements to public spaces
One application per community and/or organization
Projects cannot focus solely on private property improvements, be monitoring-only, primarily request equipment/supplies, or propose large-scale infrastructure
