About this grant

Supports projects that permanently change people's daily life habits and the performance of buildings, products, and services toward zero-footprint or net-positive environmental impact. Funded projects must be scalable, quantifiable, and designed to serve as replicable models for other organizations and communities. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and government agencies operating in the Charlottesville area.

Feedback and suggestions from the donor if an optional LOI is submitted

How to apply

Full proposal submitted via CACF grantee portal
Optional 1-page Letter of Inquiry (LOI) submitted by August 15th
Post-grant 1-page summary sheet documenting efforts as a model for other communities
Final report on project spending, accomplishments, and impact upon completion

Eligibility

Must be a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization or government agency
Project must be located within the CACF service area (Charlottesville and counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, and Orange)
Project must be designed to permanently change many buildings' performance and/or people's daily life habits
Project must have specific, concrete actions with quantifiable results
Project must be designed, tracked, documented, and reported to serve as a model for other organizations
