About this grant

Supports the establishment, continuation, or enhancement of legal self-help centers that provide civil legal assistance to self-represented litigants. Eligible applicants include government entities and nonprofits seeking to host or expand centers that partner with Michigan Legal Help. Funds may be used for staffing, service delivery infrastructure, and related operational costs.

Eligibility

Applicant must be a government entity or nonprofit organization
Must be registered as a vendor in the State of Michigan's SIGMA financial system
Existing self-help centers must be recognized by and partnered with Michigan Legal Help
Must have an authorized official able to enter into a binding contract
Nonprofit applicants must provide Articles of Incorporation
501(c)(3) applicants must provide most recent audit report or certified financial review
