About this grant

Supports economic development and quality-of-life improvements in small rural Kansas communities through projects in childcare and senior programming, community vibrancy, food retail, and libraries. Eligible projects may include building improvements, equipment purchases, technology upgrades, public art, signage, and facility improvements. The program targets communities in 78 eligible Kansas counties with populations of 5,000 or fewer.

Half of grant funds awarded at time of award
Remainder disbursed once project reaches at least 50% completion

Eligibility

Must be located in one of 78 eligible Kansas counties
Community population must be 5,000 or fewer
Eligible applicants include local government, economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, and other community-based organizations
Town must not have received a SEED grant in the past year
10% local match is required
All funded projects must be completed within 12 months of receiving grant funds
