About this grant

Provides funding for humanities-focused nonprofit organizations to strengthen their direct engagement and relationship building with communities under-resourced in the humanities. Supported activities include staff and board training, paying community experts and advisors, language and program accessibility, and partnership building work. The grant period is one year.

Eligibility

Must be a Maine-based, humanities-focused organization
Must have applied for but NOT received a MHC grant in the past three years
Must meet with a Maine Humanities grants staff person before submitting an application
Must have 501(c)(3) status, or be a government organization, church, or education organization (or use a fiscal sponsor)
Annual operating budget must be $750,000 or under
Must work in Maine communities
