About this grant

Funds planning and on-the-ground implementation projects that directly reduce water pollution in Lake Champlain and its tributaries. Eligible projects include shoreline stabilization, green infrastructure, stormwater management, CSO reduction, and engineering design plans for future water quality improvements. Awards are available across three categories: small implementation grants, large implementation grants, and planning grants.

What you get

Category 1 (small implementation): up to $50,000
Category 2 (large implementation): $50,001–$200,000
Category 3 (planning): up to $100,000
Approximately $865,000 total available across all categories
Partial funding may be awarded if agreeable to applicant
Reimbursement for direct costs including personnel, travel, supplies, equipment, and subcontracts

Project task outline and table (using LCBP template)
Project task descriptions with measurable outputs and timelines
Budget and justification
UEI number from SAM.gov
Copy of valid NICRA (if applicable for indirect cost reimbursement)
Subrecipient Risk Assessment Form (for subawardees)
Up to three signed letters of support from major partners (optional)

Eligibility

Must be situated and work within the Lake Champlain Basin
Eligible entities include colleges and universities, nonprofit organizations, NY Soil and Water and VT Natural Resource Conservation Districts, and non-federal/non-state government agencies including municipalities
For-profit companies may only apply to categories 2 (large implementation) and 3 (planning)
Federal and state agencies are ineligible
Individuals are ineligible
Current NEIWPCC/LCBP contract holders must be in good standing with all outstanding deliverables received and accepted
Must register for a UEI number through SAM.gov
One proposal may be submitted per eligible organization per grant category
